Whether it's the traditional Big Sister / Little Sister match, small group mentoring or big group events, Big Sisters is all about friendship between women and girls. Find out how a little time from a caring adult makes a big difference in the life of a child.
In addition to the traditional Big/Little match program, the following special mentoring opportunities are available:
Building Bridges In-School Mentoring
Big Sisters of Regina is excited to introduce our newest program, Building Bridges! Building Bridges is an In-School Mentoring program that focuses on serving young girls and boys in grades 1-8 who are either new to Canada or are from a culturally diverse background. Mentors will meet with their mentee once a week for 1 hour at their school, during daytime school hours. For more information, contact our mentoring coordinator at 306-525-2141 ext. 156
Braided Journeys is about one-to-one mentorship that celebrates cultural identity and tradition. Aboriginal girls and boys are matched with positive Aboriginal female role models from the Regina community. For more information, contact our mentoring coordinators at 306-525-2141 ext.123 or 127.
Couples for Kids
Would you and your partner like to enrich a child's life together? Couples for Kids is the program for you! Couples for Kids is a flexible program that gives you and your partner an opportunity to volunteer and be matched to a Little Brother or Little Sister—a great way for both of you to give the gift of friendship to a child.
Couples in the program should be at least 20 years of age, and should have been together for at least one year. The Couples for Kids program provides flexibility by allowing one member of the couple to spend time with the child if the other person is unavailable.
For more information, contact our mentoring coordinators at 306-525-2141 ext.123 or 127.
