YWCA Child Care Centres

Our Child Care Centres offer a full range of developmental programming to nurture children's physical, emotional, social, intellectual and creative lives.

The Child Care program follows a philosophy which shifts the image of the child from a child with needs that adults meet to a child with strengths. We stress the image of a competent child who is a producer as opposed to a consumer of resources and one who has a right to a quality early childhood education: one that provides the child with relationships and experiences that promote and foster development.

We operate two licensed subsidized child care centres for children 18 months to 12 years. We provide care on a full time, daily or drop-in basis. Our hours of operation are from 7:00 am-6:00 pm Monday-Friday. We provide 2 snacks daily and a hot lunch program.

Our staff has varying levels of education from certificates or diplomas in Early Childhood Education to degrees in Education and Psychology. They also have first aid and CPR certification and all employees of the YWCA have a police record check.

Half Day Rates

Half days are the hours between 7:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Children cannot go past 12:30 p.m. or come earlier than 12:30 p.m.
