Kids in Transition Shelter (KITS)

Kids in Transition Shelter (KITS) opened in a temporary location August 14, 2009, and operated there until October 17, when the shelter began operation in a Regina residence purchased and renovated for that purpose. KITS is an emergency receiving shelter for up to 10 children ages 0-12 years, with a recommended maximum stay of 15 days.

KITS provides care for children in need of housing while the Ministry of Social Services explores options for the best living arrangement for each child. KITS provides children with a warm, safe, and nurturing environment to promote their well being.

Our goals are to have the residents feel mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually uplifted. These goals are achieved through access to school enrollment and educational programs at the house; a staff that is trained, caring, and empathetic to each unique situation; and ultimately ensuring that the children feel safe and nurtured during their stay.
