Childbirth Education

Birthing from Within
childbirth classes allow parents to learn through interactive,
creative activities that explore and validate their own knowledge
in the spirit of fun and curiosity while at the same time discussing
non-biased, evidence-based information about pain-coping and labour
management.
Classes discuss all topics typically covered in prenatal education
courses (i.e., stages of labour, epidural, cesarean, medical pain
management) and offer activities that allow parents to build their
pain coping skills and explore the feelings that accompany the transition
to parenthood. All activities promote a non-outcome focused mindset
that allows parents to better cope with unexpected or unwelcome events
during labour.
This class is designed for expectant mothers and their partners in
the last three months of pregnancy. Classes are taught by Angela
Miki, a Regina-based labour doula. Angela is the only Birthing
from Within mentor in Saskatchewan and a mother of three energetic
boys.
All Classes are Sundays, 2:30pm to 4:30pm.
Post-partum gathering to be followed.
