Microsoft Word 97
Level 1
9 weeks (2 hrs/week)

Description: An introductory course designed to teach
how to use MS-Word in the Windows 95 environment. You will
learn how to create, edit, enhance, open and save files, and
print documents.
Who Should Attend: People who have taken the Windows
95 – Level 1 courses, or have equivalent work experience or
knowledge. This course does not teach word processing concepts
or typing skills.
Level 2
9 weeks (2 hrs/week)
$75.00
Description: The follow-up to the level 1 course,
level 2 teaches how to format documents, work with tables,
borders, graphics and columns as well as how to use mail merge
and how to create mailing labels and macros.
Who Should Attend: People who have taken the Word
97 Level 1 course, or have equivalent work experience or knowledge.
This course does not teach word processing concepts or typing
skills.
Level 1 & 2 Combined
14 weeks (2 hrs/week)

Description: This course is a combination of the Level
1 and Level 2 courses and is designed to teach students how
to perform basic and advanced operations with Microsoft Word
97.

Microsoft Excel 97
Level 1

Description: The main objective of this course is
to provide an overview of the basic commands, functions and
capabilities of Microsoft Excel 97.
Who Should Attend: People who have taken the MS Windows
95 – Level 1 course, or have equivalent work experience or
knowledge.
Level 2
9 weeks (2 hrs/week)

Description: This is the continuation of the Level
1 course. Level 2 introduces some of the advanced features
in Excel 97. You will learn how to use different built-in
functions, linking worksheets, data maps, working with database
functions, using some analysis tools and how to use macros.
Who Should Attend: People who have taken Windows 95
– Level 1, and Excel 97 – level 1, or have equivalent work
experience or knowledge.
Level 1 & 2 Combined
14 weeks (2 hrs/week)

Description: This course combines elements from the
Level 1 and Level 2 courses. This course will teach you how
to create and edit a spreadsheet, format cells in the spreadsheet,
perform calculations, create and edit charts, use built-in
functions, work with multiple spreadsheets, use the database
function of Excel, be introduced to macros, and customize
the spreadsheet.
Who Should Attend: People who have taken the Windows
95 – Level 1 course, or have equivalent work experience or
knowledge.

Level 1

Description: This course will introduce the Internet
to new users. You will learn what the Internet is, how it
is used, and why it is so popular. Topics also include how
to use the most popular aspects of the Internet, i.e., e-mail,
searching the web, and how to download simple information.
Who Should Attend: People who are new to the Internet
and have either completed a Windows course or have equivalent
working knowledge of Windows.

Introduction to the Internet
3 hours

This is a half-day introductory-level course. This course
provides an exploration of methods of accessing the Internet,
the role of online services (such as America Online), and
the Web. The focus of this course is to provide you with a
comprehensive overview of the Internet and its associated
services.
Conducting Internet Research
6 hours
$90.00
This is a 6-hour course that teaches the fundamentals of
the research procedure, the basic search tools available via
the web, and the skills necessary to utilize these tools.
Advanced Internet Research
6 hours
$90.00
This is a 6-hour course that explores specialized databases,
commercial search engines, meta search engines, multi-search
engine interfaces, and Internet discussion groups.
ABC's of IC3
20 weeks (3 hrs/week)
$250.00
This is a 3-module course: Module A – Computing Fundamentals,
Module B – Key Applications, and Module C – Living Online.
Once each of the modules has been completed you have the option
of writing your certification test. Being IC3 certified proves
that you have the basic literacy to understand key computer
concepts, applications and the Internet and provides you with
a foundation for achieving application-specific computer certifications,
such as Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS).
