Thank

The YWCA Regina
has been a strong advocate for women since its inception in
1911. Throughout our history, our organization has encouraged
women in the realization of their full potential, be it through
providing innovative support programs and services, or by
inspiring them to pursue their dreams and aspirations. The
YWCA Regina Women of Distinction Awards Program is an extension
of this commitment - an opportunity to celebrate women, their
talents, creativity, and achievements.
Launched in 1981, the YWCA Regina's
Women of Distinction Awards was one of the first in Canada.
Our mandate continues to be to encourage and recognize women
whose outstanding activities and achievements contribute to
the health and future of our community. A YWCA Women of Distinction
Nominee is a woman who displays a sustained and significant
commitment to society, in her field of endeavor and beyond,
whether that commitment is displayed locally, nationally,
or internationally. In addition to honouring talented women
who make a difference, funds raised from our Gala Awards Dinner
support YWCA crisis support programs and services.
