YWCA Regina serves the community from Treaty 4 lands. Treaty 4 is home to the Saulteaux, Cree, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakota peoples, as well as the homeland of the Métis. We thank Indigenous people for being stewards of these lands. We acknowledge the strength and resilience of Indigenous women and recognize their ongoing leadership and community building.

Holiday Giving

We are so grateful to people like you who celebrate the spirit of the festive season by sharing your good fortune with others. YWCA Regina could not do all that we do for our community without you. To help you in your holiday giving decision making, we have supplied a wish list for the women and children we serve.

  • food hampers of non-perishable food items

  • a prepared and served turkey dinner for one of our groups

  • stocking stuffers like candy (peanut free), instant coffee, tea, mandarin oranges, lip balm

  • unwrapped new toys for children aged 12 and under

  • gift cards for children in our shelters aged 13-18 from Wal-Mart, London Drugs or the Cornwall Centre

  • women’s underwear in all sizes, especially small and medium, plus socks

  • mitts and other winter accessories

  • toiletries including shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, shower gel, dental floss, lotion, feminine hygiene products, brushes and combs

  • Christmas decorations for the families working with our Outreach Team

  • private rental of a theater at the Rainbow Cinemas to watch a holiday movie with bus transportation for all residents

But, these are just suggestions. If you have a great idea of how to spread some holiday cheer, we would love to hear it! In our shelter for homeless women and children we can’t know ahead of time if we will have five children or fifteen on Christmas Day, or what their ages, interests or needs might be. So, gift cards and cash donations come in pretty handy. Whatever gift you give, know that you will be helping to make one of the most challenging times in the lives of local women and children feel better, brighter, warmer and kinder. And, if you choose to give a cash donation of $20 or more, you will receive a tax receipt. We also highly value the gift of your time and welcome volunteers during the holidays, and all year round, at YWCA Regina.

If you would like to know more please contact us. Thank you very much for thinking of the YWCA Regina. We could not continue the work that we do without the gifts we receive from people like you.
